Figure Sculpting Workshop with Deb

Get ready to learn and create in a warm and welcoming backyard full of mangos at Deb's home, go home with a new skill and possibly even new friends!

Workshop Break Down:

August 6th - Day 1

In this class, we will be covering the basics of clay, leaning into the foundation of pottery and jumping into the basics of the firing process and drying process of clay.

We will also cover the basics of human anatomy with a visual guide that students can follow along to.

We will begin working on our first figure sculptures with two live models to pick from.

1 male/1 female form

Before class ends, we will cover our sculptures in plastic to seal the moisture in order to continue working on the sculpture on Day 2

August 13th - Day 2

We will continue working on our forms, taking the time to pay attention to the detail of the human body.

Students have the option to start another sculpture for more practice as well.

August 20th - Day 3

Students will begin putting finishing touches on their sculptures. accentuating the details of their pieces and adding depth to the forms.

August 27th - Day 4

We will dive into the art of glazing ceramics and its properties. Students will have the chance to glaze their pieces with ceramic glaze.

What to Expect with ticket:

• Base your sculpture off of 1 half nude model
• 3 hour sessions
• 2 lbs of clay
• Piece will be fired up (Please Note: Pieces cannot be larger than 12 inches in order to fit into the kiln.)
• This is a home studio and is a house with ivy all over the front.
• This workshop will be outside in the garden.
• Wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Aprons are available if needed.
• Feel free to bring your own food and drinks.

This is a workshop not an event, so please NO PHOTOS until models are no longer posing. 

MUST BE 18 or older.
